At Program Development Services, we provide an array of residential services to suit the level of diagnosis or cognitive level of each individual. PDS believes that everyone, regardless of the disability, should live in a stable, normalized home environment. We encourage an atmosphere of acceptance, warmth, understanding and security, all of which upholds the rights of each individual and provides a sense of self-direction.
Program Development Services operates over 60 facilities in Brooklyn and several in Manhattan. We provide both supportive and supervised care. Half of our programs are supportive apartments with 3 or less individuals residing in them.
Our 64 different sites across Brooklyn and Manhattan accommodate 164 residents, from aged 18-70, in the following capacity:
Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF)
An Intermediate Care Facility is licensed by OPWDD to provide housing and related services. This setting includes 24-hour staffing and supervision in a group environment.
Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA)
An Individualized Residence is a certified living setting in which individuals can participate in the development of their community living skills. This environment is structured, offering a stable home environment within which to foster guidance, support and rehabilitation.
Individualized Support Services (ISS)
An ISS is a non-certified housing alternative for a person who wishes to have access to independent living arrangements that are alternative to traditional structured residential settings.
